The Olympus Superzoom 3000 is amazingly light _ a 10.8-ounce job that fits in your pocket but nonetheless performs big-time. It zooms from a 38mm wide-angle to 110mm telephoto mode, has fill- and red-eye-reduction flash functions, and is auto-everything. On a field test I gave it, the small viewfinder was a little hard to get used to, but with practice I came to rely on the camera for snapshots. Pros may still prefer their multilens mammoths, but this makes a great backup camera with an impressive focal range. Olympus Superzoom 3000, generally costs $290 at most camera stores, cheaper from discount places.
